Applications are now being accepted for Fulltime Firefighter.
Job Description:  Responds to alarms, drives and operates equipment and related apparatus and assists in the suppression of fires, including rescue, advancing lines, entry,
ventilation and salvage work, extrication and emergency medical care of victims.  Performs cleanup and overhaul work, establishes temporary utility services.
Assists maintaining and repairing fire apparatus, equipment and the cleaning of fire stations and grounds.  Conducts station tours for the public, school, and community
demonstrations and programs.  Prepare business pre-plans. 
 Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls, pumps out basements, inspects for gas leaks, secures vehicle accidents, inspects chimneys, etc.
Participate in continuing training and instruction programs by individual study of technical material and attendance at scheduled drills. 
The firefighter performs responsible service work in fire profession and prevention; does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Fire Chief.
Minimum Requirements:  Eighteen years of age, High School Graduate, NC Level I & II Firefighter, NC Emergency Medical Technician, NC Certified Emergency Vehicle Driver,
NC Class B Drivers License (obtain within 2 weeks of hire), posses a good driving record and criminal background check.
Work Schedule:  Start out on a day schedule 7:30am to 4:00pm for a minimum of two week training period.  Then switch to a rotating twenty-four hour shift Monday thru Friday.
Starting Salary:  $26,000 annually
