March 26th, 2009 Thursday 0358hrs: Franklinville Fire dispatched reference residential structure fire located Brookgreen Road, Ramseur. Engine 82 arrived on scene to find fully involved structure fire with the occupant of residence outside. A defensive attack was made by using 2.5” attack lines from division A and D. 500’ of 5” supply line was laid from hydrant to Engine 82 by Engine 83. All overhaul operations where performed from exterior due to the structures stability. East Side and Staley fire departments responded as automatic aid to assist. Structure was a total loss. A total of fifty man hours where used from FFD. Chief 8 (Dixon) had command.
March 25th, 2009 Wednesday 1914hrs: Franklinville Fire dispatched reference Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) involving two vehicles at NC Hwy 49, upon arrival of AC-22 (Welborn) found two vehicles involved in a T-bone collision with three patients, two of which where immobilized and transported to local hospitals. Assisted SHP in traffic control until vehicles where removed from the road. AC-22 (wellborn had command.)
March 23rd, 2009 Monday 2157hrs: Franklinville Fire dispatched reference working woods fire located off of Walker Store Road. Capt. 22-A (Allred) arrived on scene to find a working woods fire, extinguished with turret gun off Engine 88. Firefighters raked line around perimeter. Chief 8 (Dixon) had command.
March 11th, 2009 Wednesday 1650hrs: Franklinville Fire dispatched reference woods fire located Reeves Trail, Ramseur. Chief 8 arrived on scene to find a working field fire that had spread to the woods and threatening structure. Pulled 1 ¾” attack line to knock down bulk of fire and used forestry lines to mop up around perimeter. No property damage caused by fire. Forestry service assisted in mop up. Chief 8 (Dixon) had command.
March 9th, 2009 Monday 1300hrs: Franklinville Fire dispatched reference woods fire threatening structure located Dewey Road. Upon arrival of Chief 8 found a working woods fire threatening outbuildings. Pulled booster line from Engine 88 to extinguish fire no property damage done. Fire was caused by low hanging power lines in pine trees. Chief 8 (Dixon) had command.
March 8th, 2009 Sunday 1417hrs: Franklinville Fire Dept. dispatched reference residential fire located Brookhaven Road, Ramseur, Captain 8-A (Hurley) arrived on scene to find a single wide mobile home fully involved. 2 1/2” attack lines where deployed for extinguishment. After bulk of fire was knocked down went in to overhaul procedures, the Randolph County Fire Marshall’s office was called in for an investigation. Electrical receptacle was ruled to be the cause of fire. No one was home at the time of the fire. Property damage was a total loss. East Side and Staley Fire assisted. Assistant Chief 22 (Welborn) had command.

Feb. 23rd, 2009 1227hrs Franklinville Fire dispatched reference abandoned residential structure fire. Engine 82 arrived on scene with a crew of four to find the structure to be fully involved with a woods fire. Climax fire responded as automatic aid and set up water point, Staley fire was also called in as automatic aid to assist. A 2 1/2” attack line was pulled to extinguish. Tankers ran a water shuttle to supply Engine 82 during fire suppression operations. Fire Marshalls Office was called back in for another investigation. Capt. 8-A (Hurley) was command.
Feb. 22nd, 2009 2138hrs. Franklinville Fire was dispatched reference abandoned residential fire located on Low Bridge Road. Chief 8 arrived on scene to find smoke showing from the house after further investigation found that the fire was located in a room rear of the structure. Pulled 1 ¾” attack line off engine 82 and extinguished. County Fire Marshalls Office was called in for an investigation. No electricity, appliances or gas connections where to the residence. Staley Fire and Climax where called as automatic aid. Chief 8 (Dixon) had command.
Feb. 10th, 2009 1542hrs. Franklinville Fire was dispatched reference MVA involving two vehicles at the intersection of Lee Layne Road and Foushee Road. Squad 8 and Ladder 8 arrived on scene to find a T-bone collision with no injuries. Directed traffic until SHP arrived on scene. Chief 8 (Dixon) had command.
Feb. 9th, 2009 1528hrs. Franklinville Fire was dispatched reference woods fire located on Foxfire Road, Engine 88 responded with a crew of four, arrived on scene to find a working woods fire threatening outbuilding, extinguished with Engine 88 front turret gun, mopped up hot spots. FFD responded one Engine and one Tanker with nine personnel. Chief 8 had command.
Feb. 6th, 2009 1344hrs. Franklinville Fire was dispatched reference grass/woods fire located Canoy Farm Road, Engine 88 responded with a crew of three, arrived on scene to find a two acre field fire, trash pile and a car involved, extinguished with 1 ¾” attack line while Engine 84 and Tanker 225 supplied water. Staley Fire Dept. was called in for tankers. FFD responded 3 engines, one Tanker with nine personnel. Chief 8 had command.

Jan. 21st, 2009 Franklinville Fire was dispatched reference automatic aid residential structure fire for Coleridge Fire Dept. assisted with attack crews, water supply and overhaul operations.
January 20, 2009: Franklinville Fire responded to three (Motor Vehicle Accident) MVA due to slippery roads, no injuries reported.
0415 January 17, 2009: Franklinville Fire responded to a residential fire on Doveview Street in Deep River Haven mobile home park. Capt. 8-A (Hurley) arrived on scene reported a single wide mobile home with fire showing from exterior steps. Engine 82 arrived on scene, a crew stretched attack line to extinguish, found fire extension inside of wall. Pulled sheets of tin from exterior wall to extinguish, crews set up positive pressure fan to remove smoke from structure. Fire was caused by removing hot towels from microwave and setting outside on steps. East Side Fire Dept. responded as automatic aid, but was canceled by command since scene was under control.
January 15, 2009: Franklinville Fire responded to an outbuilding fire located. AC-22 (Welborn) arrived on scene to find 6 X 8 well house fully involved, a booster line was stretched off engine 221 to extinguish. Ramseur Fire was requested by Chief 8 (Dixon) as mutual aid, but scene was under control and canceled by command (AC-22). Fire was caused by a light bulb that was put there by owner to keep water lines from freezing.
0505 January 8, 2009: Franklinville Fire responded to assist East Side Fire with a residential fire on Allred Street. AC-19 (Clouston) arrived and reported a two story residential structure with smoke showing. Franklinville Fire assisted with fire attack, salvage, overhaul and apparatus. AC-19 (Clouston) had command.
0803 January 8, 2009: Franklinville Fire was requested by Julian Fire Dept. to assist with manpower on a two story residential fire located on Holder Farm Road. Responded with seven personnel and assisted with attack, salvage and overhaul. Chief 36 had command.
1225 January 1, 2009: Franklinville Fire responded to a woods fire located on a Foxfire Road, 8-D (Brown) arrived on scene and reported a large field fire out of control no structures threatened. Engine 221 arrived on scene and stretched booster line to extinguish. Fire caused by a control burn.

December 31, 2008 9:53 Franklinville Fire responded to a field fire located on Walker Store Road. Chief 8 arrived on scene to find a working field fire. Stretched booster line off Engine 88 to extinguish. Fire caused by a control burn.
December 24, 2008 14:52 Franklinville Fire responded to assist East Side Fire on a residential fire located on Presnell Street. Chief 14 (Hoffman) arrived on scene assumed command reported a double wide mobile home smoke showing. Assisted with fire attack, and staging of apparatus.
December 24. 2009 4:35 Franklinville Fire responded to a RV camper fire located at McDowell Country Trail. Lieut. 8-C (Henderson) arrived on scene to find a working RV Camper involved with two exposures. Engine 82 arrived pulled attack line to extinguish and protect exposures. Randolph County Fire Marshalls Office called in for an investigation. Chief 8 had command.
December 23, 2008 11:29 Franklinville Fire responded to a residential fire located on Silkwood Drive, DC-8 (Caviness) arrived on scene reported a single story residential structure with smoke showing. Engine 82 arrived a crew was sent to roof to pull eave from attic, a water can was sent up to extinguish bulk of fire after the power was turned off to residence. Pulled ceiling from den area of residence to get all the hot spots out. Randolph County Fire Marshalls office was called in for an investigation by command (chief 8) Cause electrical short in wiring where two wires crossed in attic.
December 15, 2008 19:10 Franklinville Fire responded to a medical call reference fall, Squad 22 arrived on scene with EMS to find no power to the residence and could hear a generator running inside residence. Found male subject lying unconscious in the kitchen area, pulled victim to exterior of structure assisted EMS loading patient into unit along with another patient that was inside residence for transport to Randolph Hospital. Chief 8 called for Engine 82 to respond to location, used air monitor inside of residence, and recorded readings of 984ppm of CO. Opened up windows of residence used positive pressure fan to ventilate. Chief 8 ( Dixon) had command.
December 3, 2008 14:15 Franklinville Fire responded to assist East Side Fire with structure fire (Barn) located on Hudson Lane. Assisted with Engine 82 on Hydrant supplying tankers with water, manpower for fire attack, overhaul and shuttling water.
December 2, 2008 18:02 Franklinville Fire responded to a dumpster fire located at Eastern Randolph Mobile Home Park. Engine 82 arrived on scene found a working dumpster fire, stretched attack line to extinguish.

November 12th, 2008: Franklinville Fire Department responded to a passenger vehicle fire off of US HWY 64 just west of Loflin Pond Road. Upon arrival FFD found the vehicles engine compartment heavy involved. Engine 82 arrived and attack crew quickly extinguished with a 1 3/4 jump line. Chief 8 had command.
